We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for the right individual to join a talented team in launching and developing the new ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen Learning Center in Calgary.
The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, coordinating and teaching cooking classes, and catering. Primary duties include staff supervision, inventory control, food quality, handling and presentation, and meeting local health regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Developing and delivering cooking class programs and demonstrations to the public.
•Coordinating catering including menu development, purchasing, inventory, food production and preparation.
•Managing the hiring, training and coordination of kitchen staff.
•Facilitating staff meetings and training sessions.
•Meeting and/or exceeding provincial Health, Safety and Sanitation standards, and legislated requirements.
•Assisting with budget forecasting and projections.

Skills:
|
As the successful candidate you will posses:
•A related post-secondary diploma or degree such as Culinary Arts.
•A related journeyman ticket, Red Seal certification, and provincially recognized safe food handling certification.
•Proven success and significant experience in kitchen management along with strong supervisory skills; able to motivate, lead and develop employees.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
•Experience in food and menu costing.
•Competency in Microsoft Excel.
•Strong initiative and able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
•A valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
•Available to work evening and weekends as required.
